knoppix problem
I am using a machine which is not mine and so i have downloaded the knoppix iso and put it on a cd ...in fact at the time of writing this post i am running knoppix which is booted entirely from a cd. The reason for needed to boot a version of linux from cd was to be able to change the file spoolsv.exe located in windows 2000. As the hard drive is ntfs i had great difficulty trying to get dos to read it and when windows is loaded u cannot delete/change filename/end task of spoolsv.exe.
Now here is my question:
I am running knoppix with the aim of changing a windows 2000 filename, but when i access the hard drive and right click on spoolsv.exe and then rename, it wont accept the new filename. Is it possible to change windows 2000 file names in this manner or am I just wasting my time with this method?
Thanks,
ViLE
