Knoppix/KPPP and Net Connection
I am running the latest distro of Knoppix Linux and it is installed to my hard drive.
So i open KPPP and configure the login script so it sends my pass and user name and i configured the phone number, so it connects and then i open the connection monitor and it acts like it is connect so i goto use any internet related application and it doesnt work.
So then i try pinging the remote server (which i am connected to aka the msn server) and it works fine.
But if i ping and other server, etc it fails....
Any Help?
(By the way i am running MSN DIALUP ISP!)

most likely, msn is going to require you to use msn explorer to connect now, therefore not allowing you to do this, but i dont know exactly

Well MSN uses standard PAP/CHAP Authentication which is compatable with linux, the general rule being that any device that can connected using DUN (MSN IN 2k without MSN Explorer) is comptabable with linux DUN.
However MSN is giving me a problem, people say they have done it but wheni connect i can only ping the MSN Server and myself, it works fine than. The connecition remains active as if it should be and the connection is... well connected it just doesnt allow me to do anything bt ping the msn server and mine so i do have a connection which means it is not an authenticaion or sign in problem.
It may be a linux settings error, i am not too good with linux yet so wondering what it could be.
Basically i can only ping msn server and myself.
I am Connected.
I Cannot use net applications or ping other servers not even by IP (so it's not DNS)...
Any Ideas?
-Thnx
