Knoppix Empty HD Boot Question.

I had some trouble and couldn't get Knoppix to load when my HD was empty and not formatted. Why is this ? Thanks.

Are you trying to boot it from CD, or do you mean with an HD install? Can you provide any more information, that's very little to go off of ;)

Cool

I was trying to boot from CD ofcourse since my HD was empty. 4G HD, 333MHz , 156MB Ram The screen would just not show any picture and go almost blank. There
were just some bars at the top, that is it. No error messages, nothing. Please ask if you need additional info.

Can you CTRL ALT F2 to another console and login/set root's password? Did you specify any instructions before booting:
knoppix wm=fluxbox

Or anything like that?

Cool

Yes here is what I have to use at boot.

knoppix 2 vga=normal lang=us

CTRL ALT F2 is a neat feature. Where can I learn more about it ? What are the other similar features ? Thanks.

So it worked? ;) I don't know how to refer other features to it, but check the Tips and Tricks thread for more "tips and tricks" ;)

The Knoppix problem wasn't solved, I didn't check on it. However, on a different note, it was good to learn about Ctrl F2. I will checkout the Tips and Tricks thread sometimes. Thanks. :)
