Knoppix & Writing 1's & 0's to H/D

I'm working with a hardrive that has some accounting data on it and its going to a client with a new computer. I would like to write 1's and 0's to all the entire disk multiple times to rinse it clean. I once new the command but I lost it, it was something like dd /*da* ??. I'm planning on mounting the drive with knoppix and annihilating it. Can anyone list the specific command.

Thanks in advance.

dd if="input file" of=/dev/hda

you may use /dev/urandom as an "input file" - that's random number generator

if one did e.g. 20 runs of
dd if=/dev/urandom of=/dev/hda && dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hda
that would achieve a pretty darn clean system :)

Cheers,
Tink
