KNOPPIX 4.0.2 saving work

I'm running KNOPPIX 4.0.2 from a CD? How can I save cahnges (i.e. customizing my profile) so they will be available the next time I boot up?

I haven't used knoppix since version 3.7, if it has not changed too much, I recall something under the knoppix menu, possibly called saveconfig that will allow you to save your configuration to a floppy. Upon rebooting, the use of a "cheatcode" should boot to the saved configuration. I believe the cheatcode is as follows.
knoppix myconf=scan
