knetworkmanager problems

hi, i have sabayon linux mini edition 3.4. some how my knetwork manager got screwed up, the initial install of the os it worked find saw my devices and loaded the internet on start up. but then a couple weeks ago my internet stopped working, knetworkmanager told me i had no internet device. so i check if config and eth0 wasnt there anymore so i did sum searching i typed in net-setup to setup the network device eth0. i figured i would only have to do it once. now every time i restart the computer i gotta do net-setup i know a good amount and have been trying to figure it out on my own to advance my skills in linux. so to fix this problem will i have to manually configure the network config file or am i doing something wrong or is there a way to manually pick a device in knetworkmanager to get that working or is there a file that gets made every time you do net-setup and i just got to put that file in the path at startup?

Firstly, you should make sure the driver module for your device is being loaded at boot.

Secondly, there should be a config file in your startup scripts that configures your network settings. In Slackware it's /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf you can find and edit that file (or wherever it's found on your distro).

Hope that points you in the right direction.
