mldonkey and gift

I've been searching all over but haven't found any answer to my problem.

When i start Kmldonkey it won't connect.
I have started the mlnet and everything. Kmldonkey says connection refused..
Anyone have any answer for this, it would be perfect

I've also installed giFT, is it possible that theese two services interfer with eachother, and how can i uninstall the one that i dont need?

Thanx...

Bear with me, but i dont really know if there's a firewall blocking.
I'm running slackware9.1 kernel 2.4.22 anyway i can check it?

Here's a post from when i try to run:

*** GIFT-FATAL: Failed to load interface subsystem

NOTE:
There may be another giFT daemon running on this host. Check to see if the
interface port (1213) is currently in use by another process.

*** Often times more information can be found in the log file or with the -v command line switch.

As I recall, I installed kmldonkey before mldonkey, might this be the problem?

I am not that fam with slack, but mldonkey and giFT run on diff ports, i don't see how they would interfere with each other. Check to see what is running on port 1213 (don't recall the cmd). Also check to see what port kmldonkey runs on. Sorry i couldn't be more help
