I have recently started using kmail2 again, as Kmail2 has a feature that no other email client seems to have.
I have done a duckduckgo.com websearch and have some people addressing the issue. But the "solutions" are not good.
I have looked on Linuxquestions.org, and have found very few responses, all of which are of no use to me.
I have 2 POP accounts, a Gmail account and a not-Gmail account.
I get duplicates and duplicates of duplicates.
I have done a "fdupes" command to automagically delete duplicates, but they are not perfect duplicates, as I get no result on "fdupes".
QUESTION: If I started using an IMAP connection, rather a POP connection, would I still get these damn duplicates?
QUESTION: Otherwise, why is this still happening, why has it not been fixed, and how could I "fix" it?

Usually you get dupes if you have multiple kmail profiles retrieving mail from the same email account. If you simply leave the pop server blank on all but one profile it should work.
Like I said in my original message, I have a Gmail POP account/profile and a non-Gmail POP account/profile. The two different email accounts/profiles are totally unrelated, no "crossover" of email from either account/profile.
