Kickstart server on Ubuntu push windows
Hi LQ-ers,
I'm still fairly new to linux and I want to set up a kickstart server on ubuntu (Gutsy). There are a lot of tutorials out there for doing this, however, I've not seen any that state if it is possible to push a windows installation from a linux kickstart server. Is that possible and if so, how? Can i just put an image of a windows distribution and point to it? Thanks! |
I don't think so, kickstart answers the questions that RH asks during the installation, not those of Windoze.
Microsoft have their own remote installation solution - can't you use that? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/300483/en-us |
Microsoft does have it's own, but I really just wanted to use one machine to push all my images. I guess it leaves me with little choice.
thanks. |
I've found a solution and thought I'd share it with people interested in the same concept. Great how to on sourceforge:
