Keylogger on Linux - Help.
Hey guys, I have downloaded a file called logkeys-0.1.1a.
I unzipped it, but when I try to install (i type "sh install"), it says "/use/bin/install: cannot execute binary file". By the way, this is on my VPS. Any help is appreciated. I would be glad to give my VPS info, so that you can personally go on it and fix it. Thanks |
- removed advice based on subject topic - I would however question as to why you are running a keylogger, while not technically illegal, many purposes for them are illegal. Ensure the purpose you are using this keylogger for IS LEGAL before you install it for whatever purpose.
P.S. this is a forum, likely scanned some what regularly by bots, I would remove the e-mail address now before any spambots scan that e-mail address and add it to a load of spam mailing lists. |

Yes, I'm sure it's for "your own use", "educational purposes", etc., but we have no way of knowing this. Add to that the fact that keyloggers are a slimy piece of software no matter WHAT OS they're on. |

I tried searching Google for a solution, but was unable to do so. I asked my cousin, he said something about CCG, he tried some stuff, but failed.
Sure, it may seem slimy and "illegal" if thats what you wanna call it. I'm just asking for advice. |
Given how such software can be used to gain access to other people's personal information and passwords by illegally monitoring them, it's an issue that is clear why advice is generally not given for.

I think the test here is whether LQ could---by a reasonable person---be seen as helping illegal or unethical activities. Google will find lots of info on keyloggers---LQ does not need to help.
