Iḿ using fedora 16.when im trying to type double quotation mark itś not working.

We know that shift + ¨ is the key combination for the double quotes.

But this is not working for me and i have to press shift key and double quote key twice to type it.

Itś will be a great help to me if anybody can help :)

Check your keyboard driver: I think you're using the "dead keys" variant.

If you type this on the command line:

$ system-config-keyboard

you have probably U.S. International selected. Selecting U.S. Enghlish might solve your problem.

You should find a keyboard configuration tool in the menu under System Preferences or something like that.
