Keyboard disable, can't even log in

I am new to Linux. So new in fact that I haven't even had a chance to use it yet. You see, I installed Red Hat Linux 8.0 today, using a dual boot sytem with Windows XP. It seemed to install successfully, but when I boot Linux I get a screen that says "Enter Username", but, alas, the Keyboard is disabled and I can't type anything in. Besides the fact that I only entered a root password in the installation setup, therefore there should be no username. What's going on? ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Bustaroms. :newbie: :scratch::confused:

If you didnt add another user then try username root. If it isnt echoed on the screen just try anyway, it may be set to not show entered commands for added secuirity. Do the Num and Caps lock lights work? Is there any error at boot up?

Proud,

The Num and Caps lock lights don't work. The keyboard appears to be totally disabled. There is one error message that I can see: "Warning: clock skew detected. Your build may be incomplete."

I wonder if this is related.
