Keyboard and mouse is not detecting

Dear all,

I am being used debain linux machine. Now I faced the following problem

When I login into machine after some time keyboard and mouse is not detecting which means no input is been get from me.

I have noticed another thing also here. When I put ssh to that server after some time I was not able access that machine at all. my terminal is got hanged up.

For example if I am doing any installation process which don't need any manual interruption at that time I put ssh to server and started to install the software while installation is going the machine hanged up so I am unable to proceed further as well installation got failed.

If I done the installation process on the host machine itself the installation is going smoothly. But I am unable to access the system because of mouse and keyboard is not detected.

Here I contacted my local administrator they mentioned that this is the problem in the kernel side.

So I changed the kernel from etch to lenny ( 2.6.26-1.686 version). Now also this problem occurs.

Normally when this kind of error occurs?
Please help me...

Thanks in advance...

Plz post the following:-

/var/log/messages
#dmesg
#chkconfig --list

I suspect it to be a hardware problem....a faulty or unsupported hardware in the system.

Try to figure out any pattern in the hanging..like say after specific minutes/hours or while running any particular application or any heavy load application.... or any other relevant things you think of.

Regards
Trishito

Here I attached the following logs in text file.
$dmesg
$chkconfig --list
$/var/log/messages

I have not seen this problem as before but when I downloaded one opensource application called wanpipe after that I am facing this problem. I also removed the wanpipe application and checked it out the problem remains the same.

I am not calculated the time accurately but 20 minutes once I am not able to access the system through the keyboard and mouse. Some time it was 10,30 minutes...etc.

I think the things are given clearly. So please proceed it.

Dear Trishito,

Today I faced the same problem when I was doing one compilation with kernel. Just executed the make script at that time the keyboard and mouse it not detecting. Actually I have done this step through the remote user so unable to access the system.

Just rebooted the system and got all the commands output that was requested by you. I think this might be helpful for you to find a prob

Kindly refer the attachment.

Hi thangappan

I can't coclude much from the logs. But the wanpipe software is yet seems to be alive.Besides ,try plugging of any network device if added to the pci slot. The wanpipe deamon seems to point to some hardware which it detects & loads the multiprotocol driver module.

Although before the system restarts it dosen't gives any specific error message from any specific subsystems. So I still believe there has to be some Hardware issu.As of Now I suggest :-
1)Uninstall wanpipe software.
2)unplug any additional hardware you may have except your mouse kbd & monitor & try out the things again.
3)You hv just 512MB RAM so hanging of the OS during heavy load operations seems legitimate.
4)Turn off the deamons which you don't need for the runlevel u r working at.

Plz Revert with Results
