Key Bindings in KDE

I am looking for information on how I can create my own customized key strokes (key bindings) in KDE applications such as Konqueror or Kword. I am not talking about using the customize keyboard settings option in the applications themselves, but breaking out and creating some kind of file and doing some programming. I was wondering if anyone can provide a link to some information on this subject.

Thanks.

There is a package called khotkeys around. You could search for info on that. I believe it uses a config file, but when I looked it did not seem to be very well documented. I think I saw something about it becoming part of KDE 3.2.

Besides the individual apps there is also a comprehensive keyboard shortcut configuration tool in KDE Control Centre.
