Key Bindings

I am running SuSE 8.2 on my machine. I was wondering how one can make key bindings to open specific programs without having to go to the menu every time.
thanks

It might help people if you posted what wm or ide you were using. As far as I know, it's not a distro-question, but a gui question. Like in fluxbox, I edit ~/.fluxbox/keys (Mod 4 m :ExecCommand mozilla) but that doesn't help if you're running KDE. I could be wrong, though - maybe there's some general method at the X level.

i am using KDE 3.1.
i go to the control centre and try to change the shortcuts through the option there...but it seems like u cant add any new bindings from there...all you can do is edit the current ones.
i would appreciate any help.
