kernel upgrade -> problems
Hi all,
I was using debian sarge with 2.6.8-1-686 and with synaptic package manager today I upgraded to 2.6.8-2 and some other things. The thing is that when gdm is trying to boot it doesnt work, what can be the problem? If I boot 2.6.8-1-686 it works again :/ When updating gdm the config window found a kind of conflict, it said that gdm.conf was changed (by myself or a script) and that recommended not to change it, so I kept it. Can it be that the old .conf only worked with the old kernel? Maybe it also has to do with the fact that my laptop has a nvidia card (it gave me a lot of problems to install the drivers). Thanks a lot! |
Reinstall Drivers
According to the nVidia site, you need to reinstall the drivers whenever you upgrade to a new kernel.
Hope this helps, jrtayloriv |
