Kernel panic - not syncing
Hello
I have just installed Slackware 12.1 on an old panasonic toughbook cf-28 It seemed to run without any problems until I tried to boot the installation and got this message: Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt Please could someone let me know what is going on as I have also had the same message with two other linux distros (can't remember which out of those I tried were the culprits - sorry) Thanks Alex |
Sounds to me like an IRQ error. I'd go into your laptop BIOS and check IRQ settings. Maybe also disable things you don't need like parallel/serial/etc.
Maybe also try some boot options like 'noapic' or something |
