kernel panic!! help

I have a problemdebian sarge)
/sbin/init:432
kernel panic:

I try to solve it. I start using KNOPPIX and get my GRUB hda1/menu.lst.
When I edit the menu.lst, it says that read only.
AND I cannot change the mode using chmod.

How can I edit the hda1/menu.lst under KNOPPIX?

Thanks.

Make sure your boot partition is mounted read-write (mount -o remount,rw /mnt/myboot if it's not should set it right).

OK, I'll try it. Thank you.

I did not check this and did not know this issue. I hope it will work out soon.

Thank you.

Yes, it works.

Now, everything is good.

One more question:
I only want to get a debian package without install it right now. How can I use apt-get to do it?

For example, I want to store a package in my floppy, later I refer to this floppy to apt-get install the package.

Thank you very much.

I think this forum is a good community.
