Kernel panic : Aiee, killing interrupt handler

I am running Redhat release 8.0 Kernel 2.4.12-14 proxy server. The server hangs at the terminal window. Each time I have to restart the system, the error below keeps on coming:

Kernel panic : Aiee, killing interrupt handler
Interrupt handler - not syncing

I am realy frustrated by this .......people help me sort out this???

Hi, and welcome to LQ!

And it's *HIGH* time to update. RH has been out of support
for years, I don't even want to start thinking of what kinds
of vulnerabilities YOUR box may be having in stock.
