Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!
Hi.I'm a new user of Red Hat linnux 9.0 and when i finished the instaltion and tried to reboot this error "Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler! " occured and i can't do anything.Please if anybody has an idea post me a message.

Was there anything "strange" about the install? Any messages that certain processes were not successfully completed? Did you try a re-install?
Did you install a kernel that matched your configuration?

Hi Hussar and thanx for interesting.I have an 80Gb HDD with winxp pro and a second HDD 40 Gb where i'm trying to install the red hat linux 9.0,but there is no any success.I have create the dual booting and when it's going to boot and make the final test the error appears.I have format and install it several times and i have no idea where the problem came from.If you have an idea i'll appreciate.Thanx in advance.

hi i'm a newbie and i also got the message like "Kernel panic: cannot mount the fs". Even I try to use the rescue disk but I still got the same message. It cannot mount the hardisk device. What's wrong is it.

gxil, does the problem come up as the machine is shutting down to reboot or during the reboot itself when the kernel is loading and trying to access the root drive? If it is during the reboot itself, try typing 'linux root=/dev/hdxn' where x = the drive ("a" for first drive on first controller, "b" for second drive on first controller, "c" for first drive on second controller, or "d" for second drive on second controller) and n = the number of the partition on the drive on which you installed your root partiition.
yawhum80, that might work for you too. If it does, you need to adjust your bootloader to look for the correct drive and partition.
