kernel panic


HI
I have been running linux(fedora,red hat) on either vmware or virtual box
cause whenever i try to install it on my hard drive my removing a partition so that i can install linux on free space just after starting the setup i get this message
Kernel panic:not syncing:IO-APIC+ timer does,nt work boot with apic=debug and send a report then try booting with 'noapic' option please assist as am having an amd dual core 2.1 ghz 64 bit processor and 3 gb of ram and two hdd 160 gb and 40 gb

Did you try "install noapic" as an install command?
