Kernel Panic

Hi there,

I am trying to install RH 7.3 but I am running into a Kernel Panic.
I am booting from a CD-R with downloaded iso. The exact error message is:

Kernel Panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 09:00

If anyone out there can help that would be great.

I have never used linux so I am getting really antsy about getting installed so you can Imagine my frustration!!

Thanks in advance for any help.

post your machine specs and the messages before the kernel panic line.

Geez, TrickyKid why didn't I think of that?! I found a couple others with the same mobo as me and it turns out to be something to do with the power managemet in my bios (??) Oh well, it works now so I am happy.
