Kernel Howto for version 2.4.21?????

Hi everybody

i have just downloaded the new stable Kernel Release 2.4.21 and tried to work through all those many new options and features ... i tell you my brain is going mad....
there are so many things you have to pay attention. Now i am searching for a kernel howto, especially for this Version of Kernel. maybe someone knows where to find something like that. I would be very happy. I would be even more happy if it would be in german...

Any hints on this???

Hope someone can help cooling my brain down :)

I highly recommend that unless you're familiar with all the options (which it sounds like youre not... and that aint bad) that when you're configuring your new kernel that you do it via
'make xconfig'

the reason I say this is it will create a graphical configuration interface BUT it also makes it very easy to get help about almost every configurable option. And each help will describe the the option is for, what it does, and what a safe default is.

So grab a tasty beverage, start XFree86, type 'make xconfig' and (if you're gonna read about almost every option) get ready to spend about 30 min to an hour configuring. Don't worry though... after you do it once or twice you can configure and tweak a kernel inside of 10 minutes.

best of luck,
