kernel files removed
 

vmlinux and vmlinuz files were removed from one of our servers.

Someone created a boot disk from another server ... same linux version, and copied the kernel over to the un-bootable machine.
The troubled machine now boots okay ... but, do you think there are any problems presented in doing this?
Should we now possibly upgrade the kernel using the most recent RedHat patch? Thanks in advance for any opinions.

There shouldn't be any problems as long as the two servers are running the same hardware (or the kernel you're using at least has support for all of the hardware in the server).
