Kernel Error

hi,

I am getting this error frequently and i can't access my linux window.

Error :- kernel panic-not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs on
unknown block(0,0)

Can anyone please help me. My Kernel 13.3 is not working but 13.1 works fine.. I am using Opensuse 13.1 with vmware player...

Thanks,

This error [kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown block(0,0)] means your new kernel has no support for your hard drive controller. In a virtual machine this means your kernel has no support for emulated hardware.

thank you for your reply. So, what's the solution then?

Can't tell, I do not use VMware nor SuSe. Basically, you have to make sure the HDD controller emulated by VMware is supported by SuSe.
