Kernel config SCSI devices

I dont have any SCSI devices in my box, only IDE. Sense I dont have any SCSI devices, does that mean I can leave the "SCSI DEVICE SUPPORT" part of the kernel configuration out? Or will that have effects on the IDE-SCSI emulation, and bring loads of problems?
