kernel compile - boot screen

hi all

i cant get my boot screen (splash) working. I have got ram disk and frame buffer support. i have passed correct variables on lilo (splash=silent) but still it doesn't do it....
and also, with the normal no splash boot up, there are patches of blue on my screen for some reason... can anybody help?

What kind of kernel have you tried to compile?
The kernel which you get with your distribution will most likely have had a bunch of patches added to it. So you might want to look into applying some of the same patches.

i am compiling 2.6 and i just found my problem
i compiled vesa and ati drivers together, and when looking at the boot messages, it says that they have a slight conflict..

problem solved now :)
