Kernel and ipchains
 
hi,

im trying to use the ipchains tool to give instructions to my
Kernel 2.4. When trying this: ipchains -L input, it tells me the following:

incompatible with this kernel

know of any patch or something?

i believe that you probably dont have ipchains support compiled into your kernel. try using iptables.

i think ipchains is pretty much retired now, its iptables in newer kernels.

yes,

i don't know if ipchains is compiled into my kernel.

can i use iptables instead? does iptables work with the same funtions ?

or maybe upgrade the ipchains tool?

try 'modprobe -a ipchains'
