Keeping daemon running (Daemontools, Supervisor, Upstart, Runit, Systemd, Circus, God, etc )

Have a daemon running on Raspberry Pi Jessie which I want to make sure always runs.

There are several tools which are designed to assist.

How do I determine which one to use?

Thanks

I've mentioned this to you before: I like daemontools (and didn't you just set that up?)

Thanks scasey, If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't even be asking this question! Yeah, I just set it, but then learned about a bunch more similar products. Not saying newer is better, however...

You're welcome...and you may find something better...but I've had qmail (send and smtpd), clamd, and spamd running under daemontools on a production webserver for more than 15 years with absolutely no problems (knock on wood!), so I'm sold on DJB's software. [I'll concede that the documentation can be a bit obtuse at times...it took me a long time to wrap my head around ucspi-tcp rules...]
Please keep us posted.

Good Luck.
