kdm,gdm,xdm
 

wanting to try out linux(slax),I put cd in drive,after a few moments I was informed that I do not have kdm,gdm or xdm,? what is this,and how do I obtain this item(s)?

gdm, kdm, xdm, etc. are login managers. they allow a user to login with a nice graphical prompt, start their session in X (the window system), and provides a nice screen to look at while you login/logout.

I don't know how to install packages in slax, but you should just be able to install one with its dependencies and away you go.
