kde3.4-kubuntu--

1-i am little confuse, can i install KDE on ubuntu 5.04 without KUBUNTU? isnt kubuntu the kde 3.4 name for ubuntu? please inform me on that..

2-another thing is, im runnig Kubuntu (kde3.4 or whatever it is) and i have an style applied, BUT, when i open an aplication, just like firefox, or gaim, it doesnt have this style, it is just ugly.. only things openned with konqueor has the style i selected.. any of u had had the same problem.. any ideas? thanks.

1 - Yes you can. Kubuntu is the same distribution as Ubuntu but with KDE as the default desktop environment instead of Gnome. You can switch between the two as much as you like.

2 - Try installing gtk2-engines-gtk-qt. Firefox and Gaim are all GTK applications. This package will add a Control Center module called "GTK Styles and Fonts" that will let you pick the font and theme for gtk apps.
