KDE won't start

Power was cut off to home causing forcing me to reboot my Linux box. After rebooting I issued "startx" command from the console IceWM is launched. When I issue "kde" I get an error saying "/usr/bin/startkde" not found. I do not have a .xinitrc file in my home directory. The .Xsession file labels kde as my default X system. How do I launch kde?

I am running Mandrake 9.1
