KDE switching desktops?

Iam running a program that uses CTRL+f1-12, and does do not get interpreted by the program, what happens is that the desktop switches for CTRL+f<8. How may I let the program I'm running interpret these commands?

The program you are using has to trap the command. I can't imagine that defect happening, but I know VMware had a problem when you tried to switch desktops in a virtual machine the host machine would switch desktops. They fixed that.
