KDE start up error message/task panel?

when kde starts up I get the following error message...

"CD-ROM read or access (or no audio disc in drive)
Please make sure you have access permissions to: /dev/cdrom"

i also notice that my task bar shows an icon of a CD that references kscd. the error message title bar also displays kscd. so i am sure that somehow, kscd is trying to load up at startup since it is in my task panel.

how do i remove this from start up.
