No, it just makes it easier to launch frequently used programs.

damn site easier to assign a hotkey to a program if you can't even spare the extra 2 seconds it *might* take to flip open your menu and choose the app there or however. alt+g loads galeon for me, alt+t loads a terminal... can't get much faster than that.

acid, like I said I have some troubles with the concept of "being productive" , but maybe I'll start a thread on it some day... :p It could be: "Productiveness vs Enlightenmnet" ... sounds nice, doesn't it?

haha. sounds like someone just doesn't know *how* to use blackbox or windowmaker. i mean... the lack of the "start button" might just be confusing for some (therion12). heh

what's going on here is that people just get so used to the default window managers (kde, gnome) that they refuse to accept or try out new WMs. take a leap, dammit... if none of us did, then we'd all still be using windows.

oh, and i don't think my windowmaker desktops are ugly at all:

*sigh*... it's always the threads with the innocuous looking titles that have the potential to get nasty... :) everyone, play nice... keep it on topic or let it die.

again I'm going to be the opinionless hippie...

I switch between window managers and desktops environments all the time. I have certain accounts on my machine that only log in with twm. I usually end up in KDE by default.

A caveat to that though... when I was still in the PII 233 ghetto I couldn't stand using either gnome or KDE. They're both hogs but pretty and convenient if you can sacrifice some perfomance. The more desktop environments I work the more I realize that they're all pushing the same metaphor. Until there is some radical revision of the entire desktop paradigm we're basically arguing over Xmas tree decorations.

"Well, mine are brighter"
"Mine are more efficient and use less electricity"
"I have twenty Santas and sixty snowmen"

blah blah blah.

Syncrm,
I'm assuming in your screenshots you're running aterm.
What arguments are you using to color your scroll bars? I've tried to get them to color, but it doesn't seem to work :(
Yuve also got RH and Slack as your distro's, I'm assuming again (due to the lack of a S) that you're running RH on thm?

blackbox hasn't left anything anywhere, just took a nap. the tab thing in flluxbox is a decent idea, which would do well to get back ported to blackbox, but other than that, it's not as good i don't think. Blackbox is more powerful, and runs fine on a dual head system, where fluxbox screws up.
