kde Help


Ok, iv recently installed Linux Mandrake 6.0, and i dont have a clue how to install or run(if allready installed) KDE right now it only loads up a command line telling me to login and thats it, what do i do!

Login and type startx. When you installed, it seems that you deselected the option to start X at startup.

Mandrake 6.0 is more than 6 or so years old. Why not get a newer distribution.

k, i typed in startx now it just displays a blank white screen whats up with that

Reddazz is right... Get something a little more recent... Where did you get it from anyway??? If it's a hardware req issue... there are still newer distros that will install fine on older hardware...

i jes found this around my house cuz xp wouldnt install, where do i get a newer mandrake/redaht v?

You can download from their websites or purchase from cheap CD retailers. If you are going the Redhat way, download Fedora instead of Redhat 9 or below because Fedora replaced the old Redhat Linux.
