KDE - GNOME and Dialup problems/questions

I have SuSE 10.0 with GNOMe, And I understand I can install KDE ontop of it. I did so, using yast, and the default directory it gave me, but the login screen does not give me the KDE option. If I open the terminal and type "startkde" then I get the KDE menu bar, ontop of the GNOME menu bar, with everything being the same as GNOME, As I said I installed it invar/tmp/bin I think it was, which is what Yast gave me, anyway its installed, its all there, I just get no option. Im using this on a 120GB HDD so space is no problem, how do I properly install KDE with GNOMe at the same time like im supposed to be able to?

Also, how do I connect to the internet via. Dial-Up in GNOME?

Anyway, thanks

If anyone has answers feel free to post, or e-mail me @

don't know if this will help, but try to install "kdm".
that's the kde loginmanager

are you able to select a shell login via the login screen?
if then, you should be able to use kde normally
