Kde desktop settings question


how do i make the roots desktop settings everyones default setting?

You can't ... not "per se".

What you can do is to copy the folders
/root/.kde
/root/.kde2
to the users home, run a chown <user> over
them, and that should do ... howver, this is
not dynamic. If you want the changes that
you make in root's KDE settings to be distributed
to all users every time you'll have to write
a script for that :} (one that get's run whenever
root exits a login-shell, for instance)...

i cant find .kde2 but i do have a .kderc and .gtkrc-kde ... i am using kde 3.2

I wouldn't know what 3.2 uses to store info ...
I don't even use KDE ;}

Just have a play with it, make changes, see
whether the directories access-date gets updated...


ls -ldrt /root/.*

hmmm i did a search for .kde3 and i dont seem to have this file.... i only have the .kde1 anyone have any other suggestions?

Made a change to the settings and checked
time and date of files in that hidden directory?
