KDE desktop corrupted

Hello everybody,
I am running one machine as an NFS server and the other as a NFS client
The NFS server has fedora 2.0
NfS client is redhat 8.0
Now sometimes when I login into the KDE desktop environment of the client the desktop is all garbled , I cannot see the Icons or the text and I end up going to the command mode and rebooting and then it may work fine.
This happens intermittently and I have not been able to identify the exact cause for this
Any light on this matter will be really appreciated

apt-get install kdebase
