KDE default user theme

How do I change it? ...I'm taking about the default blue background and the gray login window (before any users are logged in).

Go to: Control Center --> System Administration --> Login Manager and then click on the tab titled "Background".

Thanks! I was able to change the default theme and background but the blue background is still there for a few seconds right where it switches from frambuffer to the window manager. I can, of course, live with it (since it's not a big deal) but I'd love to change it if there is a way to do it. Blue doesn't really go with anynthing in my boot or the desktop theme .

BTW.
I'm running Mandrake 10.

Hmm, well I haven't used Mandrake 10. Last time I used Mandrake was years and years ago, like 7.0 or earlier. That was before I even stuck with Linux so I don't know much about it. I would imagine it would be the same or similar to configuring KDM for Slackware Linux though. It doesn't make sense to me why that blue background appears for a few seconds then it switches to the background "you" chose. Hmmmmmm....

Not at all. I have created my own boot theme (followed instructions on bootsplash.org). That's working well - at least in the 800x600 mode (aka vga=788(15bit)/lilo.conf). I'd love to get it working with 1024x768 (vga=791 or 792) - no such luck so far. Anyway - back to the topic - I'm talking about the few seconds just after the bootsplash is done and just before KDM starts. I know it isn't my boot theme since even the built-in themes display the blue.
