KDE: Cannot find new programs

I just installed some programs, and I cannot find the icon in the K menu.

I know I can launch it from Terminal. But I am accustomed to clicking a button in the menu.

Lets saw I just installed a MPlayer RPM. How do I get the icon in the K menu?

mplayer is run via the command line. In order to get it to run off K menu you need to install a K frontend gui such as KMplayer.
Just to explain the command line use. If you have a video file called demo.mpg in /home/user_name/video and you want to play the file do mplayer /home/user_name/video/demo.mpg

As mplayer is not a KDE program (r even a GUI program), it is unlikely to show up automatically in the menu. You will need to add it manually via the Menu Editor.
