KDE can't start
I am using Red Hat Linux 9 with KDE. Last time, I uninstall the program "captive-ntfs" and run a Command "Make Clean" because of I want to prepare re-compile the kernel to make it support NTFS. However, after that, I can get back to the KDE desktop again. Every time when it switch to GUI mode, black screen displayed for about 5 seconds and then it quits and go back to text mode and after 2 seconds it go back to the black graphics screen again and again. KDE can't start and the system go back to console mode, but the system still to try it every time it fails. It cause an infinite loop and I can't take control of it until CTRL+ALT+DEL was pressed. Then, the system close all process and reboot. I have tried use fcsk to check the partition but still can't fix anything. Someone tell me to use "rm -rf /tmp/*" to fix it. However, after that, The system can't start at all. It directly go to "Init: Level 9". No proess started every time it boots. I don't know how to fix all these things. I have tried reinstall the KDE package from the CD, but it dosen't work. I hope someone can help be to solve the above problem, thanks!
