KDE 4.2 Shutdown without confirmation dialog

I want the computer to shutdown withot showing the confirmation dialog when I press the power button.

What should do?

I have deselected 'confirm logout' in systemsettings — Session Manager, but that didn't help

Use the shutdown command instead?

sorry, didn't fully understand: you mean the console command?

Yeah, though I don't think I understand why you're removing the dialog really- so the command may not be the right solution

So I want to shutdown my computer by simple pressing the power button. I don't want to see any dialogs, I just want the system to shut down. I'm afraid, console command is not a solution in this case.

I suppose you could script it and map the script to a key on your keyboard (http://www.linux.com/archive/feature/118179) though you'd have to make some interesting security choices on whether a non-root user is allowed to run that ;)

I have found the solution http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/ubu...tml#post698849
