KDE 3.5 Konqueror Custom movie thumbnails?

hi all

I am running Latest Mepis KDE 3.5. I am trying to find an app or away to change the thumbnails for every avi to custom DVD covers. I was told one possible way to do this in konqueror was to embed a picture into an avi. I cant find anyway of doing this. Does anyone know how to add custom pictures for each avi? Changing the icon for one avi changes every avi to the same (extension). On gnome you have imdb-thumbnailer which does this for you. I understand on konqueror you can run mplayerthumb but all this does is use a random frame from the movie and uses this as the thumbnail. So it must be possible if mplayerthumb can do that. I have no idea how to look into its code to see how its done.

Many Thanks for any help

Try installing this in your Mepis: A .deb install for Mepis. If you know how to compile, download the source code (.tar.bz2) and build it for yourself.

Out of curiosity I downloaded the source files. It is simple to install and configure. Install Thunar. From there just edit the config file. Type: imdb-thumbnailer for help and instructions on usage.

Hi

Thanks for the reply. Works fantastic with Thunar. I didnt know you could install this on KDE. I do prefer konqueror though so if anyone knows away to get something like this for konqueror please let me know. Many Thanks {BBI}Nexus{BBI} for all your help.

It seems this is a Nautilus/Thunar only app. The author doesn't appear to working on getting it work with Konqueror or Dolphin. In general you can install and run Gnome apps on KDE and vice versa.

I'm impressed with how it looks. So much so, I'm keeping it and added it to my Main Menu and Panel. If you decide to do the same the icon is available from here: Thunar Logo.

Hi

Thanks for the icon. That will come in handy for my menu. I dont like all this eye candy that some people use on there desktops but you really can't beat movie covers for your movies :)

Thanks
