KDE 3.4 upgrade in Mandrake 10.1 caused kmenu and kcontrol to lose all entries

After I ran 'make install' from meta/kde using konstruct , the result was to get a nice new KDE 3.4 environment but lost all entries from kmenu and kcontrol.

Is there a way to get them back?

From your home directory run 'ls -a | grep kde'
Perhaps you see some directories like:
Perhaps the new install moved .kde to .kde.backup, or perhaps .kde is a symlink to .kde3.4 instead of .kde3.3 like it used to be?

Unfortunately no.

This is not the case.

After wandering around the files and trying to find some 'mdk' related files I decided to uninstall my previous 3.3.2 and "make install" the 3.4 from %konstruct/meta/everything , also removed the mandrake-menu related stuff and ........voila.......I got a superhuge KDE menu , at least there is something in there now.

Thanks anyway
