KDE 3.3 and Slackware 10.
I would like to move from KDE 3.2 to 3.3.2.
I found the source, and was planning to compile. I then found pre-made slackware packages. for 3.3.2. Is there any difference in compiling vs. installing packages other than the time involved? I am assuming there has to be some advantage to compiling from sourrce. Just curious which one to do. Thanks, Blair |
packages in rpm form are usually easier to install--there is often not much more to it than clicking on the package in the gui.

I know how to compile from source (sorta), and from slackware packages.
I was wondering if there was an advantage to compiling over packages? I know packages in slack are easy. Download installpkg filename.tgz done I already have the 19 or so source tarballs. I could download the slack packs if there is no real difference. Regards, Blair |
