KDE 3.2.1 on Red Hat 9

I am using Red Hat 9 and I don't like the feel of Blue Curve (when using KDE). I don't think there's a way to change to the real KDE feel. So I performed an FTP installed from KDE's FTP server using the KDE Konstruct. After installation, I entered in BASH:

export QTDIR=~/kde3.2.1
export KDEDIR=~/kde3.2.1
export KDEDIRS=~/kde3.2.1

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=~/kde3.2.1/lib
export PATH=~/kde3.2.1/bin:$PATH

When I restarted my PC and logged into the KDE seesion, it still went into Blue Curve. How can I get KDE 3.2.1 to work on Red Hat 9? Other than the ~KDE3.2.1 folder being created in my home directory, where other files created and placed in different parts of the system?

You help is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, I've been having the same problem with RH9 and KDE3.2.1. I've posted the same question on the KDE forums here

There have been a couple of answers that may work for you. So far they haven't for me. I'd be interested to hear of any RH9 users that have installed KDE3.2.1 successfully *from source* via Konstruct and if so did they have a similar issue.
