kde 3.1 suse 8.1?
 

i installed kde 3.1 and i have a strange error. konqueror crashes whenever i try to open it. Did i do something wrong? how can i install it easier? what order do i install the rpms?

make sure suse 8.0 supports kde 3.1

i use suse 8.1 and i download all the suse 8.1 prebuilt binary packages from the kde.org ftps

i dont know then,sorry :(
try to install it again

Are you trying to run konqueror in super-user mode? If you are logged on as a normal user and then trying to run the menu item: "File Manager - Super User Mode" (or using a console to su to root and then attempting to run konqueror), there definitely seems to be a problem.

The konqueror window will open for a second or two and then immediately shutdown. There has been a lot of talk about this on the SUSE and KDE mailing lists.

So far, I haven't seen a solution that works for me.
