KDE 3.1.0: Getting the menu back down
Hi,
I am a complete Linux newbie (2 weeks) and after installing Mandrake Linux 9.1 I fooled around with the KDE looks. Among other things I enabled the menu to be displayed atop the desktop, Macintosh-style. I now find that less than useful, so I'd like to revert it, but when I change (uncheck) the activation in the control center the menu still stays on the desktop, at most it disappears until I give the focus to another program, then reappears. The checkmark actually unchecks and remains unchecked and I can toggle it to my heart's content, the menu stays on the desktop. I take it it might be a bug in the control center, and I believe (read: hope) there will be a text file somewhere which I can edit to change this. Can anyone point me in the right direction, please? Try using kpersonalizer to undo it.

Thanks, but kpersonalizer (I've just gone through it) apparently doesn't control this part of the desktop options.

Just for the record, thanks to a complete crash of the Linux system I have to reinstall everything anyway, so the problem will be amended...
