Kali linux not going into GUI interface

I have been using Kali Linux for quite sometime now. Now, even though Kali boots up but just in the CUI interface.I can put my username and password and work with the commands but I want my GUI back.
How (I think) I screwed up is.I wanted to install another os alongside Kali so, I tried to create a bootable usb. But unfortunately I selected one of my HDD partition instead of my usb. As a result my GRUB disappeared, just showing "-" sign.
I used this method to get my grub back.
Everything came back to normal but Kali shows a bunch of errors while booting and also it doesn't go into GUI interface.
So if anyone has any suggestions please help!

Kali is not an operating system to run, it's a pen testing suite! RTM...

don't install kali to hd, don't dual boot it with windows, don't use it as an everyday desktop os.

You haven't really posted enough information for anyone to be help to help, regardless of the distributions you are using. For starters, the errors you report seeing. Posting the output of the bootinfoscript would also be helpful.

If you want to use Kali to learn computer forensics, it would be much more practical to put Kali on the usb. There are detailed instructions at their site.

I cannot download the bootinfoscript because I have no idea how to connect to the wifi in command line. So, if you have any method to connect to the wifi in command line please do post.
